Within the Fintech sector, my responsibilities encompassed the enhancement of a widely-utilized financial application. I directed my focus towards the meticulous design of the user interface, aiming to strike a delicate equilibrium between visual appeal and operational efficiency. By elevating the aesthetic impact, my primary objective revolved around creating a visually captivating yet user-friendly interface that not only engages users on a sensory level but also instills a sense of trust—a fundamental component within the Fintech industry.
To optimize the application's usability, I immersed myself in various User Experience (UX) theories, including the Law of Simplicity derived from Gestalt psychology. By implementing this principle, I ensured that each screen layout was thoughtfully crafted to guide users towards key actions, thereby minimizing cognitive load. Furthermore, I incorporated Hick's Law to streamline decision-making processes, consequently reducing the time users spend deliberating choices. This refinement notably benefits older users by simplifying interactions, making the application exceptionally accessible and user-friendly across diverse age groups. Fitts's Law played a pivotal role in determining the size and spacing of interactive elements, ensuring effortless navigation and interaction for users with varying levels of dexterity. Drawing insights from the Serial Position Effect facilitated seamless navigation and maintained the app's components' memorability and intuitiveness.
An outstanding feature of the application is its interactive flexibility, enabling users to navigate seamlessly between features from any section of the application. This universal navigation system promotes smooth interactions, eliminating friction points in the user journey and significantly enhancing the efficiency and ease of financial transactions.
Regarding the web application, I spearheaded the development of accessibility features from inception, meticulously aligning them with the WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 standards. This thorough approach guaranteed that users with disabilities could navigate the application seamlessly, adhering to the fundamental principles of accessibility, including Perceivability, Operability, Understandability, and Robustness. By integrating these standards, my objective was to establish an inclusive digital environment where every user could effortlessly engage with the application, irrespective of their abilities or limitations.
